The Wheel of The Year

Above you can see a diagram of the Wheel of Britannia.  This wheel is not the traditional Wiccan wheel that many people will be familiar with.  The Wiccan wheel generally has its elements one quarter turn onwards clockwise, therefore, the element of fire being in the south instead of the east.  The directions of the elements are similar to a Native American Medicine Wheel. This wheel has been adapted by Kathy Jones and is used by the Avalonian tradition of Goddess worship, hence why the Lady of Avalon is at the centre of the wheel.  You can see above the names of the Goddesses who are honoured at each season, the qualities they bring and their totem power animals.  Also shown are the morgens; faery women whose energies can be seen in the weather and natures surroundings.  To find out more visit www.kathyjones.co.uk

At first glance the wheel may look quite simple, however it is infinite.  The more closely we observe the wheel around the year, feeling the energies and atuning our lives to it, the more healing revelations take place, the more in tune with cosmic rhythmns we are, the more we live in our 'truth'.  The wheel has been with us for thousands of years since time began - the circle of life is constant and  although ancient, it is as relevant today as it was then.  Using the wheel as a 'cosmic' guide we are connected to the stars above as well as the Earth below.
