                    100g goji berries

                     3 tbsps agave syrup

                    150 g raw cacao powder

                     50g raw carob powder

Melt the coconut butter in a bowl over a pan of boiled water.  Do not overheat.  Next just simply stir in the rest of the ingredients visualising love and more love whilst you stir.  Turn out into a small tray or even little moulds and let it set in the fridge for about 3 hours.  Score pieces with a knife - should make about 16 squares.

Our Earth Mother  (Sept. 2011)

Whilst on holiday in the Preseli Hills in West Wales recently I began to think about our feelings of ‘place’.  As I sat there on top of a mountain looking over the valley to other mountains, I could see so clearly, both in my outer vision and inner vision.  I realised how important it is that we connect to the Earth and that so much of our lives and involvements personally are effected by our environments.  I realised that in my own life I have a tendency to fall in love with various places on this Earth and have an urge to return to these places at different times of the year.  I fall in love with the rocks, with the trees, the plants – and even have favourite blackberry bushes and woods in which to forage at this time of the year.  I began to ‘see’ this connection to our Mother Earth in a very spiritual sense.  It also took me back to our nomadic existences as human beings, a previous incarnation, when we lived in tribal communities on the Earth, moving to our winter and summer homes each year and taking only what we needed from nature.

Our Mother Gaia gives us so much, She is alive!  Part of the divine source and we are part of Her.  In Her body She holds her wisdom keepers, the crystals that carry the essence of the divine source in varying forms.  It feels like such magic to connect with Her through these beautiful gifts.  She gives us Her essence through the plants that she grows on Her body.  We could not live without them!  They help us breath, protect our bodies, nurture our emotions and sustain us physically as food.  And when our physical life is over, She takes our bodies and holds them deep in the Earth to become part of Her body once more as our soul takes flight back to the divine light of Source. She is truly amazing! Does it matter though, where our home is on this Earth?  Perhaps not.  If we can connect to the spirit of Mother Earth wherever we are, if we can ‘see’ through the veils of what we perceive as our normal realities, we can surely feel at home anywhere.

This Autumn Equinox is a time, in the Avalonian Tradition of connecting to Earth, to be thankful to Her for Her support and stability.  It is also a time of examining our own Truths and manifesting that truth in all our actions.  I invite you to honour the Earth that is your home in whatever way you feel is appropriate.  This needs no elaborate ceremony – just your intention and love to Gaia, your gratitude and truth.  Blessed Be.

Sunshine Salad (11.7.11)

For one person - Take a good couple of handfuls of spinach leaves, or other salad leaf that you like.  Arrange it on the bottom of a serving plate.  Next top it with segments of fresh orange arranged around the edge of the plate like sun rays!  In the middle place piles of grated carrot, raw sweetcorn (cut directly off the cob), thinly sliced radish and a sprinkling of sunflower seeds (just sprouted if you wish)  Then drizzle with the following Pineapple Dressing adapted from Kate Magic's book Raw Living.:-

Soak 2 oz dried pineapple for 20 minutes, drain and place in a blender, add 1/4 in of root ginger, 1 clove garlic, 1 orange juiced, 2 tbsp sesame oil and 2 tbsp water - whizz this up to make a delicious zingy sunshine dressing!  Enjoy.

How to be Creatively Self-expressed

Having decided what goals and creative seeds you wish to grow and manifest this year, which may include new year's resolutions - remember them? - how do we go about it?  Being creative is not about creating a poem, a picture or fantastic art piece; we are all creating all of the time.  Everything we do begins with a thought which we then act upon and manifest the result - even simple things like preparing a meal or making a cup of tea.  For many of us, at some point in our lives  our creativity has probably been sabotaged by ourselves (the critical voice within), or squashed by criticism from our parents, teachers or peers, rendering us reluctant to really connect with our inner desires and truly create them.  Many of us spend our lives in a state of busy stressful 'doing' with no time or thought for ourselves and indulging our creativity.  This is a trait and a pattern which needs to be unlearnt and undone if we are to truly allow ourselves to be creative.  Creativity begins from a point of stillness, a point of Being and not Doing.  The mind needs to be emptied of mindless chatter and clutter, we need to be grounded and centred, relaxed and calm.  From this point of emptiness we can allow the seeds of creation to begin to take form. . .Next we need to become passionate about what we wish to create, feel the excitement of what we are doing, tell our close discerning friends and family and begin to get a strong vision of the goal.  From this point of opportunity we will be drawn to places, people and action that will help us to birth our vision.  From stillness we create a flow of attraction that allows our subconscious to draw in all we need.  Holding that vision is important and it is often a good idea to create a vision board with pictures and colours, yourself and your goal at the centre - filling this visual space with images and feelings that enhance your vision.  We then begin to feel the manifestation of our creation as a 'real' and tangible goal - holding this vision daily and gently allowing the creative energy to flow - not forcing it - not stressing over it - will sooner or later bring it into fruition.  May the creative seeds of your visioning be blessed and bring you happiness and joy!    G.R  Feb 2009

Temple of Eartha

Stress - yes we all have to deal with it and we have our own coping mechanisms. When stress levels rise then we have to retreat and restore ourselves. One of the best ways to de-stress is through regular meditation practice.  When meditation becomes a personal discipline then we are beginning to 'win the 'game'. Regular meditation practice helps us to be calm and peaceful.  Our mind becomes less noisy and cluttered so that when stress hits us we find it easier to manage and to return to the serenity of our centre of Being.  From this very place we are in touch with our Truth and as a result we can be more creative, productive, intuitive which leads to happier relationships and allows natural abundance to flow. ALL ABOUT LOVE

As the Earth's vibration increases our lives become more busy, stressful and sometimes chaotic.  The need to create balance is essential.  At this time of the year the creative force within us is strong just as it is in Nature around us.  The first steps to take to begin creating abundance for ourselves is to stand in our own power - the key to that is love.  Loving ourselves and accepting ourselves as we are.  On a daily basis we need to connect deeply with our inner selves by spending some quiet moments alone perhaps in meditation in order to detect what we need to do to love and nurture ourselves more.  Then, take action on whatever it is you need to do that makes you feel happier, empowered and more loved.  When you love yourself, you project love into the world and to all around you - and that is greatly needed to make this world a better place.  When you project your love outwards and use your love creatively - Mother Earth will return her abundance love to you! Give it a go today! Blessed Be.  GR

LAMMAS

At Lammas we celebrate the harvest of the first fruits and of the grain.  At this time, Great Mother Earth is heavily pregnant and about to give birth.  She is Mother of Abundance, seen as Ker or Madron.  The ancient peoples honoured the Mother of Abundance by building their womb-like earth works, for instance, the mysterious Silbury Hill.  The womb of Mother Earth was where life began and also where life returned to in order to be re-born.  The endless cycle of life!

Here is an old English pudding using the grain and summer fruits in a beautiful womb shape!

Summer Pudding

You will need a 1 1/2 pint old fashioned china pudding basin

2 lb (800g) summer fruits, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, redcurrants etc

sugar and butter or marg, 8 slices of white bread, crusts removed.

Butter the inside of your pudding basin.  Put your washed fruits in a saucepan with 2tbs or more sugar.  heat gently until the fruit begins to run.  Line your basin with your sliced bread cutting it to fit, make sure there are no gaps and leave a slice for the top. Press the bread in firmly against the sides.  Let the fruit cool a little then pile it into the basin, juice as well.  Fit the last piece of bread onto the top and place a saucer or plate on top of it.  Press down gently and use heavy weights or a couple of tins on top of the plate.  Place it in the fridge overnight.  The juice will make the bread go a beautiful purple colour.  When you are ready to serve - here comes the clever bit - slide a knife around the inside basin and turn the basin upside down onto a plate - pray that the pudding comes out whole and there you have it - your own Silbury Hill filled with lovely fruit.  Serve it with cream or ice-cream.  Yummy!  GR  NOT RAW

SACRED TOOLS
It is useful to have some shamanic tools to get back to the centre of yourself.  This is necessary when we get 'spaced out' often after too much stress.  Life is so fast nowadays, it is hard to keep up for many.  Sacred tools are made with intent, and include smudge feathers/fans, talking sticks, wands, drums, rattles. Yes it comes straight from your ancestors when time was spent on crafting objects they held special and meaningful. All of their intent was focused and crafted into these tools. Energy flows where the attention is focused . Anything made with good intent can be considered sacred when respected. This is the whole idea of the workshop (see events for details) . You are to create something out of love with special meaning and purpose so that you can use the tool to assist your healing. That can be be feathers - used with burning herbs for clearing stagnant or attached energy in a place or the human aura. drums- will clear very effectively areas with heavy , stuck energy. I cleared a complete hall of static energy within a few beats of my drum. Also used to journey to alterted states of consciousness. rattles - again a very effective clearing tool and useful for journeys to the 'upper world'  talking sticks - a great tool for creating a true denocracy in group situations where only the person holding the talking stick speaks. Others must wait there turn before replying or making their own statement. This prevents interuption and demands patience. It helps the speaker to only comment on relevant issues to the group and can help to bring a deeper understanding for all. GC

SISTER OF AVALON

Avalon is a land between time and worlds.  The Isle of Avalon is situated in Glastonbury, Somerset, UK.   Avalon, means apples - therefore it is the Isle of Apples, and in fact, the whole area is abundant with apple orchards.  The apple is known as a fruit of transformation, and many who travel to the Isle are transformed, even if your visit is just for a day!  My personal journey began when, in July 2007, I took part in the Coventina Day Spa as a therapist to give treatments to people attending the 2007 Goddess Conference in Glastonbury.  Although I had followed a Wiccan path for 10 years, I knew nothing of the Goddess Conference and saw the spa as a money spinner!  The first night of sleeping there upon the Isle was the beginning of transformation, in a half wake half sleep state I was aware of a woman, a goddess being who lived within the Tor - and she was beckoning to me - to come into the Tor - to be with her.  During the next few days I read a couple of articles about Priestess of Avalon and thought no more of it.  However, within the month, I found myself becoming more interested in the idea of following this path and after making some enquiries - booked myself onto the first spiral.  On the first day of the course - just before the festival of Samhain, I wondered what on earth I was doing! Transformation is inevitable in so many ways and over this year I have been on a journey to find my authentic self in the heart of the goddess, have found new friends who are now my sisters and brothers, and have found the love of the Goddess - the Lady of Avalon.

The Illusion of Separation

When we agreed to re-incarnate onto this Earth we were dragged through the veils of amnesia at birth which made us forget who we were and  where we came from then we manifested physically onto  this Earth plane and into the illusion of separation.  . . .

Throughout our lives we are indoctrinated with this illusion.  We are taught to be separate individuals and be competitive in our world.  This of course leads to a strong sense of self - our ego.  Ego needs to be monitored because when it is bigger than us, when we listen only to it and we allow it to take over, more separation takes place.  In the struggle to be better than anyone else, richer, reach the top of our tree - we become tiny individuals, isolated,  who then FEAR being not so good, not winning, failing - we become apart from the wholeness of life - apart from nature - apart from the Divine Source which is Creation.  When we acknowledge the ego, let it go, act creatively from the heart - we are coming into contact with our divine truth and essence - getting back to being the Being we truly are - back to the purpose we have to fulfill on our Earthwalk - back to the wholeness of Source.

Everything we do think and say has an outwards effect on all around us, because we are all ONE.  One energy - from the Source.  Therefore when we act consciously, having regard for all around us, acknowledging that we are NOT SEPARATE but all part of Creation we are truly acting with LOVE and not FEAR.  LOVE is what we are made from and what we are.  When we acknowledge this and act upon it we ensure the happiness of our future generations, we acknowledge and honour our ancestors and clear our own journeypath directly back to the Source.

Blessed Be.
